RUSSIAN TRADE WITH ASIAN COUNTRIES IN THE 2ND QUARTER OF 2016

The major trading partners of Russia in Asia in the 2nd quarter of 2016:

The top ten Russia’s trade partners in Asia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were China (13.5801% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Turkey (3.4413%), Japan (3.3528%), Kazakhstan (2.9388%), South Korea (2.9042%), India (1.4285%), Taiwan (0.8507%), Vietnam (0.7380%), Uzbekistan (0.6406%), and Israel (0.4786%);

The top ten Russia’s export markets in Asia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were China (10.5445% of Russia’s total exports), Turkey (4.8997%), Kazakhstan (3.4176%), Japan (3.1761%), South Korea (3.0078%), India (1.4530%), Taiwan (0.8938%), Uzbekistan (0.7345%), Israel (0.5206%), and Azerbaijan (0.4698%);

The top ten Russia’s import suppliers from Asia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were China (18.3384% of Russia’s total imports), Japan (3.6298%), South Korea (2.7418%), Kazakhstan (2.1881%), India (1.3900%), Vietnam (1.3513%), Turkey (1.1552%), Taiwan (0.7832%), Indonesia (0.7663%), and Malaysia (0.6191%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Asia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015:

  • The share of China in Russia’s total exports rose from 8.5261% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 10.5445% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Japan in Russia’s total exports declined from 3.9110% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 3.1761% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of South Korea in Russia’s total exports declined from 3.6376% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 3.0078% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Vietnam in Russia’s total exports declined from 0.5775% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 0.3467% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Iraq in Russia’s total exports declined 4.7-fold from 0.3635% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 0.0774% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Iran in Russia’s total exports rose 2.1-fold from 0.2064% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 0.4372% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Philippines in Russia’s total exports declined 2.7-fold from 0.1439% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 0.0534% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Syria in Russia’s total exports declined 2.6-fold from 0.0795% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 0.0308% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Kuwait in Russia’s total exports rose 3.5-fold from 0.0508% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 0.1771% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Qatar in Russia’s total exports rose 6.7-fold from 0.0030% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 0.0202% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Kazakhstan in Russia’s total imports declined from 3.3493% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 2.1881% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Turkey in Russia’s total imports declined 2-fold from 2.3186% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 1.1552% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Vietnam in Russia’s total imports rose from 0.8430% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 1.3513% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Armenia in Russia’s total imports rose 2-fold from 0.0993% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 0.2004% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of the United Arab Emirates in Russia’s total imports rose 4.2-fold from 0.0930% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 0.3866% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Turkmenistan in Russia’s total imports rose 12.8-fold from 0.0460% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 0.5879% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Syria in Russia’s total imports rose 7.7-fold from 0.0014% in the 2nd quarter of the 2015 to 0.0106% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016.
