Russia’s Trade with Bangladesh
In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Bangladesh was $213,640,569, down 14.82% ($37,167,178) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s exports to Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $54,641,096, down 54.28% ($64,874,861) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s imports from Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2016 totaled $158,999,473, up 21.10% ($27,707,683) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s trade deficit with Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $104,358,377, a 786.21% increase ($92,582,544) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.
Bangladesh was Russia’s 64th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 58th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1963% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1840% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).
Bangladesh was Russia’s 75th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 65th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0822% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1306% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).
Bangladesh was Russia’s 45th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 50th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3751% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.2931% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).
Russia’s Exports to Bangladesh
The major share of Russian exports to Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 55.56% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (0.34% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 23.30% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (13.25% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 13.74% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (6.53% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 3.64% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (1.40% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 0.59% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (6.92% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);

- Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $1,598,844;
- Raw hides and skins (other than furskins) and leather (HS code 41) - an increase of $941,695;
- Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $774,052;
- Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $338,276;

- Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $2,523,248;
- Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $457,423;
