Russia’s Trade with Indonesia

In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Indonesia was $399,608,675, down 2.15% ($8,774,909) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Indonesia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $74,786,705, down 2.44% ($1,872,163) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Indonesia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $324,821,970, down 2.08% ($6,902,746) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with Indonesia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $250,035,265, a 1.97% decrease ($5,030,583) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Indonesia was Russia’s 45th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3672% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.2995% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Indonesia was Russia’s 70th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 71st in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1126% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0837% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Indonesia was Russia’s 28th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.7663% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.7406% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Indonesia

The major share of Russian exports to Indonesia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 55.01% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (24.26% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 19.01% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (40.35% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 14.43% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (20.11% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 6.88% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (14.18% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.89% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (0.63% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);

  • Coffee, tea, maté and spices (HS code 09) - an increase of $694,049;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $658,281;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $533,852;
  • Pulp of wood or of other fibrous cellulosic material; waste and scrap of paper or paperboard (HS code 47) - an increase of $432,383.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Indonesia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $15,544,595;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $11,665,920;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $5,982,560;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $1,170,981;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $234,678.

Russia’s Imports from Indonesia

The major share of Russian imports from Indonesia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 51.02% of Russia’s total imports from Indonesia (56.55% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 15.20% of Russia’s total imports from Indonesia (9.37% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 13.23% of Russia’s total imports from Indonesia (16.06% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 12.06% of Russia’s total imports from Indonesia (11.16% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
