Russia’s Trade with Singapore

In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Singapore was $435,831,804, down 33.46% ($219,207,295) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Singapore in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $309,243,542, down 40.37% ($209,360,726) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Singapore in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $126,588,262, down 7.22% ($9,846,569) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Singapore in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $182,655,280, a 52.21% decrease ($199,514,157) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Singapore was Russia’s 41st largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 38th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4004% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.4805% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Singapore was Russia’s 38th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 35th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4654% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.5665% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Singapore was Russia’s 52nd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 49th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.2986% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.3046% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Singapore

The major share of Russian exports to Singapore in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 95.84% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (91.59% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 2.15% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (3.37% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 0.02% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (3.83% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Singapore in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Ores, slag and ash (HS code 26) - an increase of $2,288,952;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $930,622.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Singapore in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $181,079,238;
  • Natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious stones,precious metals, metals clad with precious metal and articles thereof; imitation jewelry; coin (HS code 71) - a decrease of $19,772,500;
  • Lead and articles thereof (HS code 78) - a decrease of $10,633,290;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $1,859,130.
