Russia’s Trade with Turkey

In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Turkey was $3,745,419,501, down 33.06% ($1,849,417,925) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $3,255,711,047, down 28.55% ($1,300,651,516) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $489,708,454, down 52.84% ($548,766,409) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $2,766,002,593, a 21.37% decrease ($751,885,107) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Turkey was Russia’s 7th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 3.4413% of Russia’s total trade (down from 4.1037% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Turkey was Russia’s 5th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 4.8997% of Russia’s total exports (down from 4.9771% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Turkey was Russia’s 22nd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 11th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.1552% of Russia’s total imports (down from 2.3186% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Turkey

The major share of Russian exports to Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 54.70% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (62.70% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 27.07% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (22.91% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 10.33% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (7.43% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.70% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (4.71% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
