Russia’s Trade with Chile

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Chile was $160,932,539, down 30.85% ($71,786,846) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Chile in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $11,671,707, down 18.29% ($2,613,467) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Chile in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $149,260,832, down 31.67% ($69,173,379) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with Chile in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $137,589,125, a 32.60% decrease ($66,559,912) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Chile was Russia’s 71st largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 66th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1320% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1834% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Chile was Russia’s 114th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 111th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0162% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0180% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Chile was Russia’s 46th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 38th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.2987% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.4609% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Chile

The major share of Russian exports to Chile in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 35.41% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (49.18% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 32.89% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (37.96% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 15.21% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (6.44% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.55% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (1.90% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 4.25% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (0.93% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 4.18% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (2.29% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.41% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (0.67% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - an increase of $119,525;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $111,749;
