Russia’s Trade with Peru

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Peru was $68,071,423, down 5.17% ($3,711,848) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $49,571,739, down 9.72% ($5,337,443) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $18,499,684, up 9.63% ($1,625,595) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $31,072,055, a 18.31% decrease ($6,963,038) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Peru was Russia’s 90th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 89th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0558% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0566% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Peru was Russia’s 81st largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 82nd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0689% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0690% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Peru was Russia’s 85th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 89th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0370% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0356% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 41.66% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (42.88% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 34.83% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (12.83% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 8.94% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (19.90% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 7.98% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (21.20% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 5.20% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (2.03% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $10,199,086;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $1,421,416.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $7,686,553;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $6,265,388;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $2,612,762;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $230,027.

Russia’s Imports from Peru

The major share of Russian imports from Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 81.36% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (85.20% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 14.25% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (6.93% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 2.47% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (5.44% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
