Russia’s Trade with Uruguay

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Uruguay was $28,091,209, down 37.31% ($16,720,336) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Uruguay in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $2,810,074, down 62.56% ($4,695,336) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Uruguay in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $25,281,135, down 32.23% ($12,025,000) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with Uruguay in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $22,471,061, a 24.60% decrease ($7,329,664) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Uruguay was Russia’s 107th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 100th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0230% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0353% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Uruguay was Russia’s 134th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 123rd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0039% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0094% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Uruguay was Russia’s 83rd largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 70th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0506% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0787% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Uruguay

The major share of Russian exports to Uruguay in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 51.58% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (75.85% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 39.39% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (20.82% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 5.09% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (1.53% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 2.56% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (0.00% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Uruguay in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $3,749,252;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $396,450;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $284,310;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $171,352;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $113,215;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $104,736.

Russia’s Imports from Uruguay

The major share of Russian imports from Uruguay in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 98.71% of Russia’s total imports from Uruguay (99.43% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.17% of Russia’s total imports from Uruguay (0.51% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Uruguay in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Edible fruit and nuts; peel of citrus fruit or melons (HS code 08) - an increase of $705,600;
