Russia’s Trade with Abkhazia

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Abkhazia totaled $74,052,443, up 16.16% ($10,299,387) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Abkhazia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $63,330,282, up 17.84% ($9,588,862) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Abkhazia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $10,722,161, up 7.10% ($710,525) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Abkhazia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $52,608,121, a 20.30% increase ($8,878,337) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Abkhazia was Russia’s 86th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 93rd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0607% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0502% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Abkhazia was Russia’s 76th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 83rd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0880% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0676% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Abkhazia was Russia’s 95th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 98th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0215% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0211% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Abkhazia

The major share of Russian exports to Abkhazia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Soap, organic surface-active agents, washing preparations, lubricating preparations, artificial waxes, prepared waxes, polishing or scouring preparations, candles and similar articles, modeling pastes, "dental waxes" and dental preparations with a basis of plaster (HS code 34) - a decrease of $411,237;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - a decrease of $208,903.
