Russia’s Trade with Belgium

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Belgium totaled $1,909,401,165, up 2.13% ($39,902,458) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Belgium in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $1,249,988,508, down 4.12% ($53,759,762) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Belgium in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $659,412,657, up 16.56% ($93,662,220) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Belgium in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $590,575,851, a 19.98% decrease ($147,421,982) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Belgium was Russia’s 17th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 16th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.5661% of Russia’s total trade (up from 1.4730% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Belgium was Russia’s 17th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.7374% of Russia’s total exports (up from 1.6394% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Belgium was Russia’s 17th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 21st in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.3194% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.1938% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Belgium

The major share of Russian exports to Belgium in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 49.53% of Russia’s total exports to Belgium (31.66% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 22.44% of Russia’s total exports to Belgium (24.97% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 17.81% of Russia’s total exports to Belgium (27.71% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
