Russia’s Trade with Cyprus
In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Cyprus totaled $68,787,916, up 52.43% ($23,659,863) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s exports to Cyprus in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $43,215,627, up 0.40% ($171,070) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s imports from Cyprus in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $25,572,289, up 1,127.37% ($23,488,793) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s trade surplus with Cyprus in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $17,643,338, a 56.93% decrease ($23,317,723) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Cyprus was Russia’s 89th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 99th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0564% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0356% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Cyprus was Russia’s 85th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 88th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0601% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0541% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Cyprus was Russia’s 81st largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 113th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0512% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0044% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Russia’s Exports to Cyprus
The major share of Russian exports to Cyprus in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 64.51% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (74.17% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 18.62% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (11.66% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 5.04% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (3.98% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 4.49% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (3.57% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.63% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (4.78% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.71% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (1.07% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

- Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $563,324;
- Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - an increase of $553,028;
- Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - an increase of $525,381;
- Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - an increase of $488,339;
- Preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk; bakers’ wares (HS code 19) - an increase of $263,751;
- Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $171,973;
- Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $134,989.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cyprus in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

- Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $1,021,888;
- Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - a decrease of $361,278;
