Russia’s Trade with Denmark

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Denmark was $515,518,541, down 15.77% ($96,498,435) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $299,317,093, down 26.23% ($106,423,577) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Denmark in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $216,201,448, up 4.81% ($9,925,142) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Denmark in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $83,115,645, a 58.33% decrease ($116,348,719) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Denmark was Russia’s 44th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 37th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4228% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.4822% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Denmark was Russia’s 40th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 35th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4160% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.5102% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Denmark was Russia’s 35th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 39th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4326% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.4353% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Denmark

The major share of Russian exports to Denmark in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 62.84% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (76.96% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 22.01% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (14.77% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 5.70% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (4.08% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 4.95% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (2.44% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);

  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - an increase of $1,889,626;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $1,550,907;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $1,475,328;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $941,310.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $124,161,029;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $1,228,362.
