Russia’s Trade with Kenya

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Kenya was $71,556,134, down 29.20% ($29,507,131) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Kenya in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $39,839,990, down 25.07% ($13,333,039) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Kenya in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $31,716,144, down 33.77% ($16,174,092) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Kenya in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $8,123,846, a 53.78% increase ($2,841,053) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Kenya was Russia’s 87th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 80th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0587% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0796% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Kenya was Russia’s 87th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 84th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0554% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0669% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Kenya was Russia’s 77th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 64th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0635% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1011% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Kenya

The major share of Russian exports to Kenya in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 72.77% of Russia’s total exports to Kenya (63.32% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 9.29% of Russia’s total exports to Kenya (2.83% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
