Russia’s Trade with Latvia

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Latvia was $1,081,388,391, down 32.61% ($523,224,908) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Latvia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $997,221,487, down 34.08% ($515,520,816) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Latvia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $84,166,904, down 8.39% ($7,704,092) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Latvia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $913,054,583, a 35.74% decrease ($507,816,724) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Latvia was Russia’s 26th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 18th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.8869% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.2643% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Latvia was Russia’s 19th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 15th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.3861% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.9022% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Latvia was Russia’s 55th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 54th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1684% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1939% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Latvia

The major share of Russian exports to Latvia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 78.88% of Russia’s total exports to Latvia (85.18% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 5.06% of Russia’s total exports to Latvia (2.36% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
