Russia’s Trade with Lebanon

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Lebanon totaled $163,623,803, up 33.02% ($40,613,963) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $160,674,455, up 33.44% ($40,268,632) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Lebanon in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $2,949,348, up 13.26% ($345,331) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Lebanon in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $157,725,107, a 33.89% increase ($39,923,301) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Lebanon was Russia’s 70th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 76th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1342% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0969% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Lebanon was Russia’s 59th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 65th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.2233% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1514% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Lebanon was Russia’s 115th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 109th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0059% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0055% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Lebanon

The major share of Russian exports to Lebanon in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 51.99% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (54.11% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 35.97% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (32.92% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 5.24% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (3.48% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 3.22% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (6.23% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 2.16% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (2.18% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $13,305,069;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $4,768,625;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $4,258,819;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $1,342,351.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $2,452,032;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $809,822.

Russia’s Imports from Lebanon
