Russia’s Trade with Malta

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Malta was $635,170,697, down 9.37% ($65,700,790) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Malta in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $629,816,667, down 9.44% ($65,638,383) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Malta in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $5,354,030, down 1.15% ($62,407) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Malta in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $624,462,637, a 9.50% decrease ($65,575,976) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Malta was Russia’s 37th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 34th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.5210% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.5522% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Malta was Russia’s 28th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 23rd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.8754% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.8745% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Malta was Russia’s 103rd largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 101st in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0107% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0114% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Malta

The major share of Russian exports to Malta in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 98.47% of Russia’s total exports to Malta (92.50% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.38% of Russia’s total exports to Malta (0.00% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.12% of Russia’s total exports to Malta (7.48% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Malta in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

Russia’s Imports from Malta

The major share of Russian imports from Malta in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 55.31% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (25.82% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 43.18% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (70.79% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 0.97% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (2.30% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Malta in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:
