Russia’s Trade with Slovenia

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Slovenia was $242,343,200, down 7.63% ($20,005,780) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $32,523,307, up 34.06% ($8,262,559) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $209,819,893, down 11.87% ($28,268,339) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $177,296,586, a 17.08% decrease ($36,530,898) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Slovenia was Russia’s 62nd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 61st in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1988% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2067% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Slovenia was Russia’s 93rd largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 104th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0452% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0305% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Slovenia was Russia’s 37th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 36th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4198% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.5024% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Slovenia

The major share of Russian exports to Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 67.21% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (28.77% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 17.61% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (54.72% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 8.01% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (9.58% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.07% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (1.74% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.99% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (0.92% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.18% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (1.18% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $14,877,758;
  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - an increase of $486,499;
  • Railway or tramway locomotives, rolling-stock and parts thereof; railway or tramway track fixtures and fittings and parts thereof; mechanical (including electro-mechanical) traffic signalling equipment of all kinds (HS code 86) - an increase of $215,544;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $214,117;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $184,261;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $162,773;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $138,302;
  • Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials (HS code 68) - an increase of $129,846;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $103,698.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $3,782,624;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $3,597,245;
  • Lead and articles thereof (HS code 78) - a decrease of $515,601;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $316,938;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $314,942;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - a decrease of $178,223.

Russia’s Imports from Slovenia

The major share of Russian imports from Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 56.84% of Russia’s total imports from Slovenia (53.36% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 28.89% of Russia’s total imports from Slovenia (31.95% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.14% of Russia’s total imports from Slovenia (5.77% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 2.76% of Russia’s total imports from Slovenia (3.52% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.45% of Russia’s total imports from Slovenia (2.75% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $4,580,201;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $3,304,883;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $1,799,062;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $1,422,420.

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $13,103,108;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $12,768,981;
  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - a decrease of $3,607,445;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $3,283,818;
