Russia’s Trade with Sri Lanka
In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Sri Lanka was $93,902,754, down 14.44% ($15,843,974) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s exports to Sri Lanka in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $17,084,697, down 33.22% ($8,500,078) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s imports from Sri Lanka in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $76,818,057, down 8.73% ($7,343,896) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s trade deficit with Sri Lanka in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $59,733,360, a 1.97% increase ($1,156,182) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Sri Lanka was Russia’s 82nd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 77th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0770% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0865% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Sri Lanka was Russia’s 104th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 102nd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0237% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0322% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Sri Lanka was Russia’s 57th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 55th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1537% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1776% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Russia’s Exports to Sri Lanka
The major share of Russian exports to Sri Lanka in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 51.30% of Russia’s total exports to Sri Lanka (54.87% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 22.06% of Russia’s total exports to Sri Lanka (9.08% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 12.39% of Russia’s total exports to Sri Lanka (11.64% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 7.14% of Russia’s total exports to Sri Lanka (1.13% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);

Russia’s Imports from Sri Lanka
