Russia’s Trade with Sudan

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Sudan totaled $50,200,638, up 45.79% ($15,767,494) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Sudan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $50,075,861, up 46.46% ($15,884,866) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Sudan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $124,777, down 48.47% ($117,372) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Sudan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $49,951,084, a 47.14% increase ($16,002,238) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Sudan was Russia’s 100th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 108th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0412% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0271% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Sudan was Russia’s 80th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 91st in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0696% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0430% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Sudan was Russia’s 146th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 141st in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0002% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0005% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Sudan

The major share of Russian exports to Sudan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 57.02% of Russia’s total exports to Sudan (79.15% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.54% of Russia’s total exports to Sudan (7.64% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 0.22% of Russia’s total exports to Sudan (5.84% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $233,478;

Russia’s Imports from Sudan

The major share of Russian imports from Sudan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 87.65% of Russia’s total imports from Sudan (87.55% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 10.47% of Russia’s total imports from Sudan (1.91% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 0.00% of Russia’s total imports from Sudan (10.19% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
