The major trading partners of Russia in Africa in the 4th quarter of 2016:

The top five Russia’s trade partners in Africa in the 4th quarter of 2016 were Algeria (1.1789% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Egypt (1.0578%), Morocco (0.2835%), Ethiopia (0.1278%), and Nigeria (0.1241%).

The top five Russia’s export markets in Africa in the 4th quarter of 2016 were Algeria (1.9136% of Russia’s total exports), Egypt (1.6645%), Morocco (0.2332%), Ethiopia (0.1997%), and Nigeria (0.1957%).

The top five Russia’s import suppliers from Africa in the 4th quarter of 2016 were Morocco (0.3641% of Russia’s total imports), South Africa (0.2042%), Cote d’Ivoire (0.1283%), Egypt (0.0876%), and Tunisia (0.0518%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Africa in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015:

  • The share of Algeria in Russia’s total exports rose from 1.4780% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 1.9136% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Angola in Russia’s total exports declined 2.0-fold from 0.1108% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.0552% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Libya in Russia’s total exports declined 7.2-fold from 0.0871% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.0121% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Togo in Russia’s total exports declined 4.2-fold from 0.0622% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.0148% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Djibouti in Russia’s total exports declined 56.0-fold from 0.0448% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.0008% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Mozambique in Russia’s total exports declined 3.9-fold from 0.0224% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.0057% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Ethiopia in Russia’s total exports rose 18.3-fold from 0.0109% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.1997% in the 4th quarter of the 2016.
