Russian trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2016

Russia’s Trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina was $44,402,332, down 10.87% ($5,415,088) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $18,152,876, down 12.95% ($2,701,488) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $26,249,456, down 9.37% ($2,713,600) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $8,096,580, a 0.15% decrease ($12,112) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 102nd largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 97th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0326% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0381% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 104th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 103rd in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0217% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0253% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 82nd largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 78th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0501% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0599% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina

The major share of Russian exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 63.40% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (72.54% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 12.73% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (12.47% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 10.12% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (4.87% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.70% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (0.46% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 2.33% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (1.18% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 0.74% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (4.54% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $246,361;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $172,056;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $143,827;
  • Lead and articles thereof (HS code 78) - an increase of $117,437;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $108,119;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $88,121.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $3,619,046;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $690,800;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $474,780;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $215,727;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $77,003;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - a decrease of $69,936;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - a decrease of $66,436;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - a decrease of $56,732.

Russia’s Imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The major share of Russian imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 70.25% of Russia’s total imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina (68.99% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 12.47% of Russia’s total imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina (19.90% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 7.93% of Russia’s total imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina (5.63% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 7.26% of Russia’s total imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina (3.37% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $217,416.

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:
