In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Costa Rica totaled $43,483,149, up 85.04% ($19,983,892) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Costa Rica in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $11,683,876, up 1,345.27% ($10,875,453) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Costa Rica in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $31,799,273, up 40.14% ($9,108,439) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with Costa Rica in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $20,115,397, a 8.08% decrease ($1,767,014) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s Imports from Costa Rica

The major share of Russian imports from Costa Rica in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 82.87% of Russia’s total imports from Costa Rica (82.71% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 15.57% of Russia’s total imports from Costa Rica (14.27% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
