In 2016, Russia’s trade with France totaled $13,267,465,897, up 13.80% ($1,608,670,804) from 2015.

Russia’s exports to France in 2016 were $4,778,232,749, down 16.35% ($933,636,446) from 2015.

Russia’s imports from France in 2016 totaled $8,489,233,148, up 42.75% ($2,542,307,250) from 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with France in 2016 was $3,711,000,399, a 1,478.77% increase ($3,475,943,696) over 2015.

France was Russia’s 10th largest trading partner in 2016 (up from 13th in 2015), accounting for 2.8364% of Russia’s total trade (up from 2.2153% in 2015).

France was Russia’s 18th largest export market in 2016 (down from 17th in 2015), accounting for 1.6737% of Russia’s total exports (up from 1.6624% in 2015).

France was Russia’s 5th largest supplier in 2016 (up from 7th in 2015), accounting for 4.6577% of Russia’s total imports (up from 3.2554% in 2015).

Russia’s Exports to France

The major share of Russian exports to France in 2016 (and in 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 80.31% of Russia’s total exports to France (80.37% in 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 5.08% of Russia’s total exports to France (3.66% in 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.05% of Russia’s total exports to France (7.02% in 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 3.31% of Russia’s total exports to France (3.36% in 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.63% of Russia’s total exports to France (1.29% in 2015).
