Russia’s Trade with Greece

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Greece totaled $1,047,629,967, up 42.67% ($313,336,853) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Greece in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $984,175,109, up 48.02% ($319,262,759) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Greece in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $63,454,858, down 8.54% ($5,925,906) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Greece in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $920,720,251, a 54.60% increase ($325,188,665) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Greece was Russia’s 30th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 34th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.7688% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.5615% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Greece was Russia’s 22nd largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 28th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.1739% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.8066% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Greece was Russia’s 66th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 63rd in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1210% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1435% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Greece

The major share of Russian exports to Greece in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 76.63% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (82.03% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 20.67% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (10.50% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.61% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (4.03% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
