Russia’s Trade with Guatemala

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Guatemala was $5,260,227, down 70.38% ($12,501,126) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Guatemala in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $1,251,109, down 91.61% ($13,667,620) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Guatemala in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $4,009,118, up 41.04% ($1,166,494) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade with Guatemala went from a surplus of $12,076,105 in the 4th quarter of 2015, to a deficit of $2,758,009 in the 4th quarter of 2016.

Guatemala was Russia’s 141st largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 121st in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0039% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0136% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Guatemala was Russia’s 147th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 110th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0015% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0181% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Guatemala was Russia’s 108th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 110th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0076% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0059% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Guatemala

The major share of Russian exports to Guatemala in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 67.98% of Russia’s total exports to Guatemala (7.34% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 24.58% of Russia’s total exports to Guatemala (88.42% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.79% of Russia’s total exports to Guatemala (0.79% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.85% of Russia’s total exports to Guatemala (0.12% in the 4th quarter of 2015);

  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $81,096;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - an increase of $59,936;
  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - an increase of $30,800;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $13,968;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $4,325;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $3,900.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Guatemala in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $13,012,953;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $426,477;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $372,251;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $117,520;
  • Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, not knitted or crocheted (HS code 62) - a decrease of $48,871;
  • Footwear, gaiters and the like; parts of such articles (HS code 64) - a decrease of $8,955.

Russia’s Imports from Guatemala

The major share of Russian imports from Guatemala in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 98.71% of Russia’s total imports from Guatemala (98.18% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 1.29% of Russia’s total imports from Guatemala (1.77% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Guatemala in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Guatemala in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Sugars and sugar confectionery (HS code 17) - a decrease of $189,553;
  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - a decrease of $91,948;
  • Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, knitted or crocheted (HS code 61) - a decrease of $12,270.
