The top five Russia’s trade partners in North America in the 4th quarter of 2016 were the US (4.4615% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Mexico (0.3436%), Canada (0.2328%), Trinidad and Tobago (0.1393%), and Cuba (0.0673%);

The top five Russia’s export markets in North America in the 4th quarter of 2016 were the US (3.5145% of Russia’s total exports), Mexico (0.3504%), Trinidad and Tobago (0.2263%), Canada (0.1140%), and Cuba (0.1059%);

The top five Russia’s import suppliers from North America in the 4th quarter of 2016 were the US (5.9759% of Russia’s total imports), Canada (0.4227%), Mexico (0.3327%), Puerto Rico (0.0770%), and Costa Rica (0.0606%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of North America in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015:

  • The share of the US in Russia’s total exports rose from 2.9018% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 3.5145% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Trinidad and Tobago in Russia’s total exports rose 3.1-fold from 0.0740% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.2263% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Cuba in Russia’s total exports rose 4.7-fold from 0.0227% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.1059% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Guatemala in Russia’s total exports declined 12.1-fold from 0.0181% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.0015% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Nicaragua in Russia’s total exports declined 13.6-fold from 0.0109% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.0008% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Costa Rica in Russia’s total exports rose 13.9-fold from 0.0010% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.0139% in the 4th quarter of the 2016;
  • The share of Canada in Russia’s total imports declined from 0.6762% in the 4th quarter of the 2015 to 0.4227% in the 4th quarter of the 2016.
