Russia’s Trade with Peru

In 2016, Russia’s trade with Peru was $303,314,307, down 56.58% ($395,296,739) from 2015.

Russia’s exports to Peru in 2016 were $209,836,792, down 66.10% ($409,179,064) from 2015.

Russia’s imports from Peru in 2016 totaled $93,477,515, up 17.44% ($13,882,325) from 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Peru in 2016 was $116,359,277, a 78.43% decrease ($423,061,389) over 2015.

Peru was Russia’s 85th largest trading partner in 2016 (down from 70th in 2015), accounting for 0.0648% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1327% in 2015).

Peru was Russia’s 78th largest export market in 2016 (down from 60th in 2015), accounting for 0.0735% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1802% in 2015).

Peru was Russia’s 82nd largest supplier in 2016 (up from 83rd in 2015), accounting for 0.0513% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0436% in 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in 2016 (and in 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 48.92% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (25.58% in 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 18.59% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (6.33% in 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 12.27% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (2.67% in 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 9.32% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (6.63% in 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 5.22% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (1.67% in 2015);

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $2,324,977;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $1,151,684;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $821,146;
  • Man-made filaments (HS code 54) - an increase of $718,123.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Peru in 2016 over 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $55,470,238;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $20,907,865;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $1,500,348;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $1,016,570;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $647,778;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $637,612.
