Russia’s Trade with Serbia

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Serbia was $478,806,952, down 0.93% ($4,498,924) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Serbia in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $227,522,322, down 14.14% ($37,478,271) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Serbia in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $251,284,630, up 15.11% ($32,979,347) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade balance with Serbia went from a surplus of $46,695,310 in the 4th quarter of 2015, to a deficit of $23,762,308 in the 4th quarter of 2016.

Serbia was Russia’s 48th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 46th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3514% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.3696% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Serbia was Russia’s 51st largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.2714% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.3215% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Serbia was Russia’s 36th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 38th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4793% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.4516% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Serbia

The major share of Russian exports to Serbia in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 41.34% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (55.37% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 26.21% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (20.62% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 11.49% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (8.73% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 8.80% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (6.16% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 7.51% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (6.29% in the 4th quarter of 2015);

  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - an increase of $1,899,599;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $1,544,168;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $1,253,114;
