Russia’s Trade with Slovenia

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Slovenia totaled $309,268,521, up 25.39% ($62,624,320) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Slovenia in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $38,321,462, up 75.27% ($16,456,889) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Slovenia in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $270,947,059, up 20.54% ($46,167,431) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with Slovenia in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $232,625,597, a 14.64% increase ($29,710,542) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Slovenia was Russia’s 57th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 62nd in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.2270% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1886% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Slovenia was Russia’s 88th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 102nd in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0457% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0265% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Slovenia was Russia’s 34th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 37th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.5168% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.4650% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Slovenia

The major share of Russian exports to Slovenia in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 68.43% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (15.22% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 18.96% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (63.25% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.56% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (10.51% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 3.13% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (1.08% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.67% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (3.26% in the 4th quarter of 2015);

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $989,793;

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Slovenia in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $3,009,342;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $2,751,048;
  • Products of animal origin, not elsewhere specified or included (HS code 05) - a decrease of $651,425;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - a decrease of $578,786;
  • Lead and articles thereof (HS code 78) - a decrease of $480,656;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $434,143;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $209,420.
