In 2016, Russia’s trade with Tanzania was $127,696,668, down 8.01% ($11,112,842) from 2015.

Russia’s exports to Tanzania in 2016 were $79,147,616, down 13.42% ($12,268,924) from 2015.

Russia’s imports from Tanzania in 2016 totaled $48,549,052, up 2.44% ($1,156,082) from 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Tanzania in 2016 was $30,598,564, a 30.50% decrease ($13,425,006) over 2015.

Tanzania was Russia’s 108th largest trading partner in 2016 (down from 106th in 2015), accounting for 0.0273% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0264% in 2015).

Tanzania was Russia’s 96th largest export market in 2016 (up from 101st in 2015), accounting for 0.0277% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0266% in 2015).

Tanzania was Russia’s 92nd largest supplier in 2016 (up from 94th in 2015), accounting for 0.0266% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0259% in 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Tanzania

The major share of Russian exports to Tanzania in 2016 (and in 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 81.39% of Russia’s total exports to Tanzania (74.31% in 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 7.19% of Russia’s total exports to Tanzania (7.84% in 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 6.60% of Russia’s total exports to Tanzania (5.06% in 2015);

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $266,300.

Russia’s Imports from Tanzania
