Russia’s Trade with the Dominican Republic

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with the Dominican Republic totaled $9,784,144, up 5.94% ($548,931) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to the Dominican Republic in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $4,159,504, down 19.20% ($988,457) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from the Dominican Republic in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $5,624,640, up 37.61% ($1,537,388) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade with the Dominican Republic went from a surplus of $1,060,709 in the 4th quarter of 2015, to a deficit of $1,465,136 in the 4th quarter of 2016.

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 130th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 137th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0072% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0071% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 127th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 131st in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0050% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0062% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 104th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 103rd in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0107% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0085% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The major share of Russian exports to the Dominican Republic in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 73.96% of Russia’s total exports to the Dominican Republic (41.82% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 14.27% of Russia’s total exports to the Dominican Republic (31.94% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.08% of Russia’s total exports to the Dominican Republic (3.51% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 3.26% of Russia’s total exports to the Dominican Republic (18.88% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to the Dominican Republic in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials (HS code 68) - an increase of $25,309.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to the Dominican Republic in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $920,492;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $836,370;

Russia’s Imports from the Dominican Republic

The major share of Russian imports from the Dominican Republic in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:
