Russia’s Trade with Yemen

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Yemen was $37,881,741, down 43.57% ($29,254,228) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Yemen in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $37,753,983, down 43.75% ($29,367,719) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Yemen in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $127,758, up 795.48% ($113,491) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Yemen in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $37,626,225, a 43.93% decrease ($29,481,210) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Yemen was Russia’s 105th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 89th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0278% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0513% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Yemen was Russia’s 90th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 74th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0450% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0814% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Yemen was Russia’s 148th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 166th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0002% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0000% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Yemen

The major share of Russian exports to Yemen in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 94.90% of Russia’s total exports to Yemen (99.28% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 3.32% of Russia’s total exports to Yemen (0.00% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 1.73% of Russia’s total exports to Yemen (0.72% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Yemen in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - an increase of $1,252,587;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $159,187;
  • Coffee, tea, maté and spices (HS code 09) - an increase of $146,281.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Yemen in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $30,986,235.

The major share of Russian imports from Yemen in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 99.98% of Russia’s total imports from Yemen (0.00% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.00% of Russia’s total imports from Yemen (71.35% in the 4th quarter of 2015).
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 0.00% of Russia’s total imports from Yemen (28.65% in the 4th quarter of 2015).
