The major trading partners of Russia in Africa in the 1st quarter of 2017:

The top five Russia’s trade partners in Africa in the 1st quarter of 2017 were Egypt (0.7374% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Algeria (0.4291%), Morocco (0.3063%), Tunisia (0.1237%), and South Africa (0.1023%);

The top five Russia’s export markets in Africa in the 1st quarter of 2017 were Egypt (0.9722% of Russia’s total exports), Algeria (0.6581%), Morocco (0.2231%), Tunisia (0.1455%), and Sudan (0.0891%);

The top five Russia’s import suppliers from Africa in the 1st quarter of 2017 were Morocco (0.4596% of Russia’s total imports), Egypt (0.3046%), South Africa (0.2525%), Cote d’Ivoire (0.0973%), and Kenya (0.0839%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Africa in the 1st quarter of 2017 over the 1st quarter of 2016:

  • The share of Egypt in Russia’s total exports declined from 1.8331% in the 1st quarter of the 2016 to 0.9722% in the 1st quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Angola in Russia’s total exports declined 14.3-fold from 0.4706% in the 1st quarter of the 2016 to 0.0328% in the 1st quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Djibouti in Russia’s total exports declined 80.9-fold from 0.0728% in the 1st quarter of the 2016 to 0.0009% in the 1st quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Zimbabwe in Russia’s total exports declined 60.5-fold from 0.0121% in the 1st quarter of the 2016 to 0.0002% in the 1st quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Nigeria in Russia’s total imports rose 17.7-fold from 0.0026% in the 1st quarter of the 2016 to 0.0459% in the 1st quarter of the 2017.
