Russia’s Trade with Belgium

In the 1st quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Belgium totaled $2,448,133,334, up 27.92% ($534,389,831) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Belgium in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $1,867,398,640, up 24.85% ($371,734,165) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Belgium in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $580,734,694, up 38.91% ($162,655,666) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Belgium in the 1st quarter of 2017 was $1,286,663,946, a 19.40% increase ($209,078,499) over the 1st quarter of 2016.

Belgium was Russia’s 16th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 14th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.9044% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.9713% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Belgium was Russia’s 14th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 13th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 2.2408% of Russia’s total exports (down from 2.4406% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Belgium was Russia’s 21st largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2017 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.2844% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.1679% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Belgium

The major share of Russian exports to Belgium in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 46.44% of Russia’s total exports to Belgium (57.86% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 28.21% of Russia’s total exports to Belgium (20.12% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 16.66% of Russia’s total exports to Belgium (10.90% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
