Russia’s Trade with Bulgaria

In the 1st quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Bulgaria totaled $952,322,616, up 75.57% ($409,907,101) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Bulgaria in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $833,942,918, up 85.61% ($384,649,665) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Bulgaria in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $118,379,698, up 27.12% ($25,257,436) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Bulgaria in the 1st quarter of 2017 was $715,563,220, a 100.90% increase ($359,392,229) over the 1st quarter of 2016.

Bulgaria was Russia’s 31st largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 36th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.7408% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.5587% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Bulgaria was Russia’s 25th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 28th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.0007% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.7332% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Bulgaria was Russia’s 48th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 52nd in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.2618% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.2601% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Bulgaria

The major share of Russian exports to Bulgaria in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 77.89% of Russia’s total exports to Bulgaria (89.82% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 9.23% of Russia’s total exports to Bulgaria (1.57% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.34% of Russia’s total exports to Bulgaria (4.17% in the 1st quarter of 2016);

Russia’s Imports from Bulgaria
