Russia’s Trade with Macedonia

In the 1st quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Macedonia totaled $43,501,546, up 48.51% ($14,209,071) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Macedonia in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $26,823,462, up 211.48% ($18,211,858) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Macedonia in the 1st quarter of 2017 were $16,678,084, down 19.36% ($4,002,787) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade balance with Macedonia went from a deficit of $12,069,267 in the 1st quarter of 2016, to a surplus of $10,145,378 in the 1st quarter of 2017.

Macedonia was Russia’s 100th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 106th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0338% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0302% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Macedonia was Russia’s 92nd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 111th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0322% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0141% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Macedonia was Russia’s 88th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 81st in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0369% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0578% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

The major share of Russian exports to Macedonia in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 88.94% of Russia’s total exports to Macedonia (85.44% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 7.13% of Russia’s total exports to Macedonia (5.43% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.55% of Russia’s total exports to Macedonia (5.38% in the 1st quarter of 2016);

Russia’s Imports from Macedonia

The major share of Russian imports from Macedonia in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 17.56% of Russia’s total imports from Macedonia (10.27% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 16.63% of Russia’s total imports from Macedonia (11.79% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
