Russia’s Trade with Mongolia

In the 1st quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Mongolia totaled $230,748,230, up 25.70% ($47,178,623) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Mongolia in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $222,749,004, up 26.40% ($46,525,740) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Mongolia in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $7,999,226, up 8.89% ($652,883) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Mongolia in the 1st quarter of 2017 was $214,749,778, a 27.16% increase ($45,872,857) over the 1st quarter of 2016.

Mongolia was Russia’s 60th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 59th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1795% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1891% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Mongolia was Russia’s 49th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 51st in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.2673% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.2876% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Mongolia was Russia’s 96th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 95th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0177% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0205% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Mongolia

The major share of Russian exports to Mongolia in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 63.36% of Russia’s total exports to Mongolia (63.75% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 13.38% of Russia’s total exports to Mongolia (20.29% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
