Russia’s Trade with Mozambique

In the 1st quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Mozambique was $12,147,164, down 31.02% ($5,461,376) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Mozambique in the 1st quarter of 2017 were $5,712,014, down 1.91% ($111,471) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Mozambique in the 1st quarter of 2017 were $6,435,150, down 45.40% ($5,349,905) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with Mozambique in the 1st quarter of 2017 was $723,136, a 87.87% decrease ($5,238,434) over the 1st quarter of 2016.

Mozambique was Russia’s 125th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 113th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0094% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0181% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Mozambique was Russia’s 118th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 121st in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0069% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0095% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Mozambique was Russia’s 97th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 90th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0142% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0329% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Mozambique

The major share of Russian exports to Mozambique in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 49.98% of Russia’s total exports to Mozambique (68.77% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 40.28% of Russia’s total exports to Mozambique (28.71% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 9.70% of Russia’s total exports to Mozambique (2.44% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Mozambique in the 1st quarter of 2017 over the 1st quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $412,220;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $27,200.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Mozambique in the 1st quarter of 2017 over the 1st quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $1,139,471.

The major share of Russian imports from Mozambique in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 100.00% of Russia’s total imports from Mozambique (100.00% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Mozambique in the 1st quarter of 2017 over the 1st quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Edible fruit and nuts; peel of citrus fruit or melons (HS code 08) - an increase of $88,094.

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Mozambique in the 1st quarter of 2017 over the 1st quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:
