Russia’s Trade with New Zealand

In the 1st quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with New Zealand totaled $66,220,031, up 174.03% ($42,054,513) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to New Zealand in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $1,898,772, up 13.21% ($221,575) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from New Zealand in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $64,321,259, up 186.02% ($41,832,938) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with New Zealand in the 1st quarter of 2017 was $62,422,487, a 199.95% increase ($41,611,363) over the 1st quarter of 2016.

New Zealand was Russia’s 91st largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 109th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0515% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0249% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

New Zealand was Russia’s 130th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 140th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0023% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0027% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

New Zealand was Russia’s 65th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 79th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1423% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0628% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to New Zealand in the 1st quarter of 2017 over the 1st quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $199,813;
  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - a decrease of $45,805;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $23,000;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $22,133;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $14,082;
  • Coffee, tea, maté and spices (HS code 09) - a decrease of $13,032;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $8,113;
