In the 1st quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Trinidad and Tobago totaled $165,621,161, up 94.90% ($80,645,183) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Trinidad and Tobago in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $165,485,576, up 94.80% ($80,532,147) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Trinidad and Tobago in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $135,585, up 501.29% ($113,036) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Trinidad and Tobago in the 1st quarter of 2017 was $165,349,991, a 94.69% increase ($80,419,111) over the 1st quarter of 2016.

Trinidad and Tobago was Russia’s 68th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 79th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1288% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0875% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Trinidad and Tobago was Russia’s 55th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 66th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1986% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1386% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Imports from Trinidad and Tobago

The major share of Russian imports from Trinidad and Tobago in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 65.63% of Russia’s total imports from Trinidad and Tobago (0.00% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 32.64% of Russia’s total imports from Trinidad and Tobago (86.53% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.71% of Russia’s total imports from Trinidad and Tobago (11.22% in the 1st quarter of 2016);

  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $2,209;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - a decrease of $465.
