Russia’s Trade with Cambodia

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Cambodia totaled $34,176,902, up 14.47% ($4,321,033) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $1,132,362, up 8.74% ($91,058) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $33,044,540, up 14.68% ($4,229,975) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $31,912,178, a 14.90% increase ($4,138,917) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Cambodia was Russia’s 107th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 100th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0245% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0274% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Cambodia was Russia’s 151st largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 140th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0013% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0016% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Cambodia was Russia’s 79th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 76th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0592% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0680% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Cambodia

The major share of Russian exports to Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 63.95% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (42.85% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 21.77% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (4.79% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.78% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (3.13% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 3.59% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (1.13% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.90% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (43.79% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $250,487;
  • Pulp of wood or of other fibrous cellulosic material; waste and scrap of paper or paperboard (HS code 47) - an increase of $210,550;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $31,843;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $28,909;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $26,464;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $21,492;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $15,993;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $13,120.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - a decrease of $456,000;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $29,934;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - a decrease of $14,384;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $4,400;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - a decrease of $3,658.

Russia’s Imports from Cambodia

The major share of Russian imports from Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 95.58% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (95.22% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.58% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (1.14% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.29% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (2.75% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $527,771.
