In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Iraq totaled $119,375,933, up 132.12% ($67,947,613) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $119,370,741, up 132.11% ($67,942,427) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $5,192, up 86,433.33% ($5,186) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $119,365,549, a 132.10% increase ($67,937,241) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Iraq was Russia’s 77th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 91st in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0854% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0473% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Iraq was Russia’s 66th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 77th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1422% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0774% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Iraq was Russia’s 177th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 205th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0000% of Russia’s total imports (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Iraq

The major share of Russian exports to Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $2,037,304;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - an increase of $1,336,991;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $751,040;

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $10,426,994;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $5,457,897;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $2,614,608;
  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - a decrease of $687,386;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $362,417.
