Russia’s Trade with Qatar

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Qatar was $14,763,438, down 30.67% ($6,530,191) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Qatar in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were $10,789,721, down 19.59% ($2,629,288) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Qatar in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were $3,973,717, down 49.54% ($3,900,903) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Qatar in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $6,816,004, a 22.94% increase ($1,271,615) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Qatar was Russia’s 123rd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 107th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0106% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0196% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Qatar was Russia’s 113th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 105th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0128% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0202% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Qatar was Russia’s 108th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 96th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0071% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0186% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Qatar

The major share of Russian exports to Qatar in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 80.88% of Russia’s total exports to Qatar (91.88% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 13.15% of Russia’s total exports to Qatar (2.25% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);

  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $97,779;
