Russia’s Trade with Romania

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Romania totaled $897,629,446, up 15.25% ($118,761,578) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Romania in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $530,400,877, up 8.08% ($39,649,732) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Romania in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $367,228,569, up 27.46% ($79,111,846) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Romania in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $163,172,308, a 19.47% decrease ($39,462,114) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Romania was Russia’s 31st largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 28th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.6423% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.7156% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Romania was Russia’s 34th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 28th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.6316% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.7386% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Romania was Russia’s 30th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.6583% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.6797% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Romania

The major share of Russian exports to Romania in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 74.95% of Russia’s total exports to Romania (80.22% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 11.22% of Russia’s total exports to Romania (10.30% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.87% of Russia’s total exports to Romania (2.96% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.03% of Russia’s total exports to Romania (2.21% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
