Russia’s Trade with Switzerland

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Switzerland was $1,045,700,177, down 21.24% ($282,004,699) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Switzerland in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were $553,874,419, down 28.96% ($225,747,326) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Switzerland in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were $491,825,758, down 10.26% ($56,257,373) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Switzerland in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $62,048,661, a 73.20% decrease ($169,489,953) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Switzerland was Russia’s 28th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 19th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.7482% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.2199% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Switzerland was Russia’s 32nd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 19th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.6596% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.1733% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Switzerland was Russia’s 25th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 20th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.8816% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.2929% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

The major share of Russian exports to Switzerland in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 21.80% of Russia’s total exports to Switzerland (24.11% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 20.20% of Russia’s total exports to Switzerland (36.08% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
