Russia’s Trade with the Dominican Republic

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with the Dominican Republic totaled $12,879,981, up 22.43% ($2,359,721) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to the Dominican Republic in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $7,776,308, up 2.70% ($204,150) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from the Dominican Republic in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $5,103,673, up 73.12% ($2,155,571) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with the Dominican Republic in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $2,672,635, a 42.20% decrease ($1,951,421) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 125th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 121st in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0092% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0097% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 120th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 115th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0093% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0114% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 104th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 111th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0091% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0070% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

The major share of Russian exports to the Dominican Republic in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 83.49% of Russia’s total exports to the Dominican Republic (7.89% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 10.56% of Russia’s total exports to the Dominican Republic (53.34% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 3.44% of Russia’s total exports to the Dominican Republic (4.64% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $491,134;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $83,632;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $52,614.
