Russia’s Trade with the Netherlands

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with the Netherlands totaled $10,247,477,895, up 23.31% ($1,937,076,011) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to the Netherlands in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $9,180,782,306, up 22.98% ($1,715,550,504) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from the Netherlands in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $1,066,695,589, up 26.21% ($221,525,507) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with the Netherlands in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $8,114,086,717, a 22.57% increase ($1,494,024,997) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

The Netherlands was Russia’s 3rd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 7.3323% of Russia’s total trade (down from 7.6355% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

The Netherlands was Russia’s 2nd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 1st in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 10.9331% of Russia’s total exports (down from 11.2348% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

The Netherlands was Russia’s 12th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 13th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.9122% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.9937% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to the Netherlands

The major share of Russian exports to the Netherlands in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 88.57% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (86.66% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 7.68% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (9.88% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.73% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (1.61% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
