Russia’s Trade with Guatemala

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Guatemala totaled $17,451,819, up 76.08% ($7,540,507) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Guatemala in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $12,448,743, up 149.29% ($7,454,988) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Guatemala in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $5,003,076, up 1.74% ($85,519) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Guatemala in the 3rd quarter of 2017 was $7,445,667, a 9,671.47% increase ($7,369,469) over the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Guatemala was Russia’s 116th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 106th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0119% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0081% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Guatemala was Russia’s 101st largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 93rd in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0146% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0069% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Guatemala was Russia’s 109th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 103rd in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0082% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0098% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Guatemala

The major share of Russian exports to Guatemala in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 46.03% of Russia’s total exports to Guatemala (0.43% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 42.26% of Russia’s total exports to Guatemala (75.91% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 8.14% of Russia’s total exports to Guatemala (16.28% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 2.60% of Russia’s total exports to Guatemala (5.32% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $219,339;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $67,663;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $57,349;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $57,346.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Guatemala in the 3rd quarter of 2017 over the 3rd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

Russia’s Imports from Guatemala

The major share of Russian imports from Guatemala in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 99.12% of Russia’s total imports from Guatemala (99.25% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Guatemala in the 3rd quarter of 2017 over the 3rd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Sugars and sugar confectionery (HS code 17) - a decrease of $280,560;
  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - a decrease of $135,040;
  • Live trees and other plants; bulbs, roots and the like; cut flowers and ornamental foliage (HS code 06) - a decrease of $91,153;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - a decrease of $18,964.
