Russia’s Trade with Hungary

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Hungary totaled $1,382,975,193, up 23.85% ($266,317,580) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Hungary in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $875,998,088, up 25.50% ($177,974,318) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Hungary in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $506,977,105, up 21.10% ($88,343,262) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Hungary in the 3rd quarter of 2017 was $369,020,983, a 32.08% increase ($89,631,056) over the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Hungary was Russia’s 23rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 25th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.9460% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.9159% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Hungary was Russia’s 23rd largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.0262% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.9702% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Hungary was Russia’s 28th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.8335% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.8376% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Hungary

The major share of Russian exports to Hungary in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 83.16% of Russia’s total exports to Hungary (82.70% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 9.29% of Russia’s total exports to Hungary (9.02% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 5.77% of Russia’s total exports to Hungary (6.50% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Hungary in the 3rd quarter of 2017 over the 3rd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $8,535,243;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $8,067,694;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $4,090,828;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $3,795,931.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Hungary in the 3rd quarter of 2017 over the 3rd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

Russia’s Imports from Hungary
