Russia’s Trade with Israel

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Israel totaled $631,171,047, up 7.97% ($46,613,275) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Israel in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $467,658,781, up 7.85% ($34,035,032) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Israel in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $163,512,266, up 8.33% ($12,578,243) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Israel in the 3rd quarter of 2017 was $304,146,515, a 7.59% increase ($21,456,789) over the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Israel was Russia’s 38th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.4318% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.4794% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Israel was Russia’s 37th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 36th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.5479% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.6027% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Israel was Russia’s 38th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 41st in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.2688% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.3020% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Israel

The major share of Russian exports to Israel in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 46.69% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (35.06% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 24.90% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (36.78% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 12.99% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (12.75% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 8.15% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (9.13% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 3.31% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (2.39% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $3,412,353;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $2,674,042;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $1,772,153;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $1,506,471.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Israel in the 3rd quarter of 2017 over the 3rd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious stones,precious metals, metals clad with precious metal and articles thereof; imitation jewelry; coin (HS code 71) - a decrease of $43,023,258;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $6,123,205.
